Parish Leadership
This meeting deals with reporting and decision-making. It appoints a Chairperson and Secretary at an annual meeting.
2. A continuity group,known as Steering Group, will be appointed at the annual meeting of Leadership meetings;
a) to implement the decisions taken at Leadership;
b) to arrange the tasks and responsibilities;
c) to deal with correspondence, continuity and research;
d) to prepare the agenda for the next Leadership Meeting.
The Steering Group is not the overall decision-making body.
3 . Finance Committee; There will be five members, including the Chairperson of Leadership and the priest. These two will jointly nominate three other members annually.
4 . Additional sub-groups may be formed by Leadership or by Steering Group, as required, for such purposes as ;-
a) parish newsletter and publicity, liturgy, church music, ministries and organisation in church ;
b)pilgrimages and outdoor services ;
c)services for youth; and for the sick and aged;
d) services required for assistance at funerals and cemeteries;
e) other matters relating to Christian life in the parish.
f) there will be an local representative group for the Kells area.
The priest will be a member of all groups and committees.
The term in office of every group ceases at the annual meeting of Leadership.
5 . All documents and records will be filed and preserved. Great care will be taken to observe confidentiality in situations where that would be required, beneficial or expected.
6 . The work and responsibilities will be shared widely among members in every group so as to allow the Leadership Chairperson and Secretary deliver on their co-ordination and leadership roles.
